100 percent in
2015
The Cleveland Neighborhood embarks on an
ambitious goal in 2015 to establish block clubs on 100 percent of the blocks in
the neighborhood and identify Community Connectors on each of those blocks. We
have been so grateful to those who have stepped up and volunteered to serve as
block leaders and have done the grassroots work of connecting neighbors,
hosting block parties and so much more. We’ve seen the positive effect of
connected blocks in more stability, social connections and lower crime. If you
don’t already have a block club contact us!
Become a
Connector
To reach every block we are looking for
Connectors throughout the neighborhood. A Connector is someone who sees the
value in CNA’s mission of Connecting Neighbors, with each other, with
opportunities and resources, and ensuring neighbors have a voice in community
decisions. Our goal in 2015 is to grow the number of Connectors in Cleveland
and provide them with the support they need to become leaders, and launch
innovative projects on their block and in their community. In February we will
launch our Connector Academy, a series of workshops and trainings to help you
become a better community leader.
Join a committee
in 2014!
We offer residents of the Cleveland
Neighborhood numerous ways to get involved in the decision making and
priorities of the neighborhood. One way to get involved is to join a committee.
We have four committees that meet monthly at 6:30 p.m.
• Youth (1st Thursday) – Work
with youth and plan events that benefit the youth and families.
• Crime & Safety (1st Monday) – Work together to address community concerns and promote block clubs
and neighborhood gatherings to promote safety and increase livability.
• Community Development (2nd Monday) – Actively promote and give input on development, housing, and other
issues that the city and other developers are seeking input on.
• Events (2nd Thursday) – Help
plan our community events such as our annual meeting, Live on the Drive, and
more.
