Afro Blue: The Drum, The Journey, The Song 

    Take a fascinating musical journey exploring African drums, spirituals, jazz and the Great American Songbook in Bruce Henry’s upcoming Legends concert, Afro Blue: The Drum, The Journey, The Song, at 7 p.m. Saturday February 7, and 3 p.m. Sunday, February 8. Tickets are $25, or $20 each for groups of 10, and are available at thecapritheater.org or TicketWorks at 612-343-3390.

    On Friday, August 15, the Victory Neighborhood Association transformed The Warren (at 44th and Penn) into a town square where neighbors gathered to hear music and enjoy outdoor summer fare for the second Music in the Heart of Victory event. On stage were Stealin’ Home, the Andrew Walesch Quartet and the Northside’s Bruce Jackson & Friends. The Jackson band played Santana and a Cajun version of Hound Dog.
