Celebrating with songs from favorite movies and TV shows
After a great 9-year run, Camden Music School is closing its doors in June. To celebrate and honor the hundreds of students, parents, friends, neighbors and others who’ve experienced the joy and inspiration music brings to the mind and soul at CMS, they’ve planned a grand finale sing-along. And you’re invited.
The sing-along, titled Singin’ at the Screen, will be held on Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m. at the historic Capri Theater, 2027 West Broadway. The venerable Dan Chouinard is the host for the evening, along with an amazing cast of song leaders including T. Mychael Rambo, Prudence Johnson, Katy Hays and Gary Rue, among others. Most importantly, the audience will be the star of the show, singing hits from favorite movies and TV shows. It promises to be a delightful stroll down memory lane.
“The Flintstones, Cheers, Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head, As Time Goes By, Stayin’ Alive, Under the Sea... Who among us hasn’t been drawn deeper into a movie or TV show by a good, singable tune or two or 12?” asked Dan Chouinard. “This year we celebrate CMS by getting together to sing a few of these songs and recall the shows that made them memorable,” he added.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door; purchase at camdenmusicschool.com or 612-529-2317. Event proceeds go to direct sing-along costs and CMS closing expenses.
Note that early ticket buyers will be included in three weekly drawings for three special perks: preferred seating, a song dedication, and a meet ‘n greet with Dan Chouinard and the song-leaders. To be included in the drawings all you have to do is order tickets early – so go online or call now, and help take CMS through this last season in style.
