The Lowry Cafe, a breakfast and lunch establishment at Penn and Lowry Avenues, is looking to expand into evening hours. To test the waters, they arranged “a special night of music, wine and fun,” inviting musician Dan Hylton to perform over the dinner hour while they offered a special menu and drinks to a full house of patrons on March 1.

Hylton, who describes his music as “craft pop,” most recently played North Minneapolis at September’s Harvest Fest/Open Streets. “We need a new venue in North Minneapolis,” he said. “This was a great time tonight. I hope we can do this again.”
