The Warren to host regional premiere of 100

Camden audiences will be the first theatre goers in the Midwest to see Workhouse Theatre's 100, which makes a regional premiere at The Warren, this October 3 to 18.

From your whole life, from all you've ever done, felt or thought...what is the one thing you treasure most? Imagine that you must choose one single memory from your life - everything else will be erased forever. That choosing this memory is your only way of passing through to eternity. That you have one hour to choose. Choose now.

That was the premise devised by award-winning British theatre company, theimaginarybody, and developed through a series of workshops and rewrites before it won a Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival and exploded onto the international theatre scene with performances on four continents. theimaginarybody is known for its focus on playful visual styles, often using magical realism to stretch the boundaries between reality and fiction. In 100, they explore this technique with gusto, bringing a cast of five versatile performers through multiple places and personas, with precise physical timing and a building intensity.

Camdenite Diane Mountford, founder/artistic director of the Minnesota Shakespeare Project, returns for her third collaboration with Workhouse Theatre, in directing 100. In addition the Workhouse welcomes a notable cast of local performers to the stage, including Robert Larson (appearing for the fourth time on the Workhouse Stage), Khary Jackson (who has performed in a national touring company at The Kennedy Center), Jen Rand (Theatre Unbound, The Children's Theatre), Joel Raney (Theatre in the Round, Lakeshore Players), and Sigrid Sutter (Nimbus Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre of Sonoma).

100 will be performed over three weekends in October: Friday, October 3 through Monday October 6; Thursday, October 9 through Saturday, October 11; and Thursday, October 16 through Saturday, October 18. All performances are at The Warren (4400 Osseo Road) and begin at 7:30 p.m., except for a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, October 5. Tickets are $12 at the door ($10 for students and seniors), or $10 in advance; and Thursday, October 9 marks the return of the popular "Camden Night" (two tickets for $15 by mentioning the "Camden Night Discount" at the door). Contact the box office at 612-386-5763, or visit www.workhousetheatre.org. The Warren is handicap accessible, call ahead for accommodations.

Workhouse Theatre's 2008-2009 Season is made possible, in part, by sponsorships from Papa's Pizza and Pasta, Steamworks Coffee and Tea, Camden Pet Hospital, NorthWest Business Association, and Northside Arts Collective.
