The ‘panorama' is out, but the A&F Family Soul Food Restaurant is in - the only soul food restaurant in Camden is opening soon. Kevin and Francis Davis used to own the All in the Family restaurant on West Broadway, but are almost ready to open up for business in Camden. Their new restaurant at 4330 Lyndale will literally grab your soul. Sink your teeth into mouth-watering "buck-naked chicken," mac and cheese with yams, chopped beef steak, fresh ground beef burgers, grilled cabbage, rib tips, sweet potatoes, and of course peach cobbler, cheesecake and fresh cakes - all at great prices. They expect to open by the end of the month and will be open daily 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Otogawa-Anschel Design-Build has received two Regional Chrysalis Awards for projects in the Residential Interior and Best Green Remodeling Project Under $250k categories. Judged by editors and writers of Better Homes & Gardens, Woman's Day, Southern Living and Houseplans.com, the winners were selected from over 450 entries. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure. The Goddess of Glass & Friends, artisan gift gallery and picture framing, will open on June 5 at 2205 Lowry Avenue. Attention all gawkers! Yes, the Camden Bridge is under construction and it's interesting to watch - but note that this construction is affecting the local businesses. So: Stop! Shop! at Marathon Gas, Avestapolis Tailors and Cleaners, Wells Fargo Bank, Camden Liquors, Spin City Wash, 42nd Ave N Station, Joy Luck, Subway, Camden Physicians, Redemptive Financial Services and all the other fine businesses on the Lyndale/42nd Avenue corridor. And then you can gawk at the progress being done on the Camden Bridge!
Tidbits: The Lyndale Ave N Gateway sign at 49th and Lyndale received a Garden of Merit award in April from Metro Blooms. The NoMi Home Buyers Tour on April 11 had nearly 50 homes on tour, with 150 attendees and agents reported having 12-40 people through their open houses.
