NWMBA Supports Business Scoops

Think global, shop local and save gas and time - and support Camden area businesses! Find out more about local businesses at www.nwmplsbusiness.com. There are two new great eateries on Lyndale!
We gave you the heads up on a new soul food restaurant that was gonna open on Lyndale - and it's here and open now for your enjoyment. Tahtianna's, at 4330 Lyndale, is the one and only soulfood restaurant in Camden. Owners Kevin and Francis Davis named the restaurant after their two-year-old daughter - ain't that sweet? Kevin is a real gourmet - he gets goose bumps just talking about cooking great food - a sign of a really good cook. His passion is cooking but he's also really dedicated to serving the community. They're planning a grand opening on Sunday, August 8 - but don't wait for that! Stop in now for Taht's Big Catfish sandwich, the Butt Naked chicken, smothered pork chops, jerk chicken, rib tips, and so much more. The big soul food buffet is coming soon too - with great food and family-friendly prices. Open Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m.; Friday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; and Sunday 1-7 p.m. 612-208-0103.
And besides soul food, you can get Cuban/Mexican food now right here in Camden. If you've driven down Lyndale for a while you've seen the sign - El Burrito Cubano, at 4729 Lyndale - well it finally opened on July 28. It's not a sit down restaurant, unless you grab the picnic table in the front, but it has a fantastic take-out menu with tons of fresh food: Get burritos, Cuban sandwiches, a variety of salads and quesadillas, and natural juices and smoothies. It's open every day; and the fun part is that you get to "make" your own sandwich - pick your bread and then select all the food/toppings you want on it. Right now they're offering a "Buy 1 Get 1/2 off with the purchase of regular priced burrito or sandwich" special, good thru August 31.
There's a new daycare center in Camden. It Starts with Luv, at 4201 Thomas, is now enrolling infants and toddlers in early care/preschool programs. It's open 6 a.m.-6 p.m. For into call 612-521-9303.
Neighborhood HealthSource (formerly Fremont Clinic) now offers mental health services with the addition of Donald Dembosky to the staff. The services are offered on a sliding fee scale for those who are uninsured and eligible. Dembosky is a masters level licensed psychologist with 25 years experience in working with children, adolescents and adults. Services provided include outpatient therapy, ADHD assessments, psychological assessments and bariatric surgery assessments. Executive Director Steve Knutson says, "The addition of mental health services to the offerings is another way Neighborhood HealthSource continues to address a variety of growing health needs in the community."
