Businesses on 44th and Penn celebrate autumn with festival

Area businesses Steamworks, The Warren-An Artist Habitat, Mighty Stitch, The Doorway, and Rix Bar and Grill are hosting an event at the intersection of 44th and Penn called the Fall Festival Saturday, October 13, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Steamworks Coffee and Tea Co. started this event a few years back and in the last two years more businesses have become involved. Steamworks will have music, a fire pit and specials on food in a concession (mini donuts, hot wings, free ice cream cones, etc.) outside the coffee shop. Mighty Stitch will have deals on alterations (10 percent off min $10 order) and some clothing specials and free hot cider. David from The Doorway will be on hand to sell some of his products and to provide free five minute massages. Rix Bar and Grill will have a ‘buy one lunch get the second 1/2 off’ special. The Warren will host an art fair (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and the Workhouse Theatre will perform a small piece on the WTC stage. All events at The Warren are free.
