Aldi&rsquo s grocery store is set to open January 21 at the southeast corner of Penn and Lowry. The City of Minneapolis is planning a grand opening at a later date - watch the next Camden News for details.

Papa&rsquo s Pizza and Pasta 4159 Thomas famous in Camden for their Italian-American pasta and pizza hoagies and Philly cheesesteak sandwiches and owner Mick (Papa) Brogan&rsquo s signature tomato pies is expanding! Papa&rsquo s Deli and Gelato café is celebrating a grand opening on January 8 5-7 p.m. and January 12 noon-2 p.m. with an exhibit of Jan Marx&rsquo s Highly Textured Art and Papa will offer free samples of the deli offerings and gelato. Rix Restaurant at Penn and 44th has new owners - John Conklin Tricia Clark and Suzy Applegren. Between them they have 40+ years of restaurant experience. They all met and worked together at the Sample Room in Northeast. They took possession of Rix on December 7 - so Holiday on 44th was their first day of operation but they knew what to expect were prepared and had a great evening. They will have a new pared-down menu with a few new items and many of the Rix favorites you&rsquo ve come to love. They are aiming for what they call a &ldquo rustic menu&rdquo (steaks roast chicken etc.) with good food made from scratch with fresh ingredients and fresh vegetables fruits and spices. They will make the menu changes gradually change the name of the restaurant to Sauced and have a grand opening at the end of March or beginning of April.

Rapid Recovery Inc. &ldquo The Twin Cities finest towing and impound facility &rdquo recently purchased the old Buchman Pluming building at 4350-60 Lyndale.
