Long awaited - the 42nd Avenue Station is finally open. Northside natives Geno Gelhaye and Robert Rice have opened their new coffee shop and deli at 42nd and Lyndale. The café offers deli sandwiches, salads, a special daily soup, muffins and scones, smoothies and frappes, and gourmet coffee beverages topped off with luscious desserts from the Cake Diva (www.the cakediva.biz). Committed to the Northside, Geno and Robert will feature original works by local artists, beginning with photography by Victory artist Denise Dumas. And they'll have music on Friday and Saturday nights at 7 p.m. Emails to Camden News rave the new café including, "The grilled Ruben was very good, knocked my socks off. We are surrounded by paper, so much so, that we don't know what to do with it all. When labeling files, always have retrieval in mind. Create labels that speak to you so you know exactly what is in there. Avoid a "miscellaneous" file, it becomes a catch all. If you can find it online you don't need it in paper. Know how long to keep important documents. A lack of trusted information can cause you to keep everything, which is excessive. Too many papers and files can also make retrieval challenging. If you are short on space, move appropriate files to a safe long-term storage. Be sure everyone that will be using the new filing system comprehends it. Recycle all those papers you no longer need. Otogawa-Anschel had work high-lighted during the Remod-elers Showcase on September 11-13, reflecting their ability to master a wide range of design and architectural aesthetics and fine craftsmanship. This was also the second year that Otogawa-Anschel Design-Build was a sponsor of the Mississippi River Challenge, and the first year as a major sponsor. "We feel that this connects directly with our values," said Michael Anschel. Designer Allison Landers and her father teamed up to paddle along with Michael, and designers Scott Barsness and Chie Morioka came to the fort to talk about the firm and give away some cool gear. On September 15 at 7 a.m. a woman drove her van into the front entrance of Impact Mailing on Lyndale. The woman missed the turn, flew a few feet when she hit the curb, sped across the grass and parking lot, and slammed into the front building's entry. The main entrance has been temporarily moved until the repairs are done.
