Scoops 2 07

Last June, Stephen Healy purchased Camden Hardware Hank on 4805 Lyndale. After many years in the retail hardware business he decided it was time to expand. Healy is the fourth-generation owner of Gardner Hardware Company, Minneapolis’ oldest hardware store founded in 1884. Stephen was initially impressed with Camden Hardware Hank’s great access to I-94, ample parking, and large yard for bulk products. What really made this location stand out though were the customers. Used to the gruff and at times ornery general contractors that did business at Gardner Hardware downtown, he was surprised to encounter the friendly and loyal neighborhood customers at Camden Hardware Hank. Steve determined then to return this hardware store to what it had once been, and what this neighborhood deserves.
Since taking over, Stephen and the staff at Gardner’s Camden Hardware Hank have been working hard to improve the store. They have completely rearranged the layout, added thousands of products, and dramatically upgraded the items available for rental. Long time manager Rick Ebert has been working this location over 18 years, is a local hardware guru, and can help with almost any residential problem you get yourself into. Now they need to hear from the neighborhood so they can provide the products that the people of Camden need. So stop by and check out all the improvements. Hours are Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Sat. 8 a.m.-6 p.m., and Sun.,10 a.m.-4 p.m. Call 612-529-1579. Then let them know what they can do to make Gardner’s Camden Hardware Hank great for the Camden area.
