Breaking news (literally)! Tootie’s On Lowry experienced a temporary setback on April 11 when a Chevy Tahoe SUV drove through their storefront at 3 a.m., leaving a 25 by 10 feet hole in their dining room. Local businesses got the car on tape - it was going 70 mph! Owners Nick and Lili Johnson, who were home sleeping at the time, got a call from their alarm service. When Nick arrived at Tootie’s, the middle room door was lying on the floor in a heap of broken glass, bricks and rubble. They worked all day to open Tootie’s and within 12 hours, were back to business for Friday night. They thank their customers who supported them during this ordeal, and are thankful no one was hurt. They’re in the process of rebuilding a new storefront and other improvements.

Sauced Neighborhood Bistro, (formally Rix) at 44th and Penn, is open with great new entrees. They’re getting their new sign ready and they’re planning a grand opening soon. They have a new spring/summer menu, and everything is made in-house from scratch using fresh ingredients. The patio has been renovated with a new wooden fence – enjoy your meal outdoors.
