Think Global, Shop Local! You can save money, gas, time and be “green” just by shopping in your own neighborhood. Find out about all of the great businesses just around the corner in the NorthWest Minneapolis Business Association Directory. Pick up a copy at a local business, call 612-703-9609 or visit www.nwmplsbusiness.com.
Speaking of being green, make sure to stop by the new Camden Farmers Market on Thursdays from 3-7 p.m. through October at The Warren, 4400 Osseo Road. It’s so close to home you can walk or bike — don’t miss out on this chance to buy delicious locally grown produce in Camden.
Too hot to cook? Well you’re in luck, there’s a great new place to bring the whole family, and it’s right here in Camden. Brickhouse BBQ is now open at 4330 Lyndale Ave. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, Brad Bigger and his wife Blanca will make you feel welcome. The family-run business (yes, that includes Brad’s daughter and son-in-law working too!) has over 45 years of experience making customers smile with their homemade BBQ. Brad recommends the pork ribs, and customers say the beef brisket sandwich is not to be missed! For those who want to eat a bit lighter there is a great assortment of appetizers, salads and sandwiches, something for everyone…even dessert. So if you are feeling hungry, day or night, stop in at the Brickhouse BBQ. They are open Sunday-Thursday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. In a hurry? Call 612-522-9411 for takeout.
After 10 1/2 years of owning and operating Steamworks Coffee at 44th and Penn, Aaron and Barbara Hardley have sold the business to neighborhood residents, Jeff and Christina Jenkins. Fortunately, you will continue to see the familiar smiling faces of the Steamworks Coffee staff and the tradition of Father Christmas will also be carried on! Look for details about appointments in late October at www.steamworkscoffee.com. Keep an eye out for Aaron too, he plans to stop in occasionally as he remains a partner in ABC&K Management Group, owner of the building that houses Steamworks Coffee and Sauced. Thank you, Aaron and Barbara, you have been wonderful community partners, and your support of all the neighborhood organizations and activities has been greatly appreciated. And of course, welcome to Jeff and Christina!
