Belgium Cabbage

1 medium cabbage. Shred and cook in boiling salted water until done. Drain. Season with salt, pepper and butter, or margarine: Pare and slice thinly 2 quite large apples over the cabbage and let cook over low heat until apples are done. Red cabbage can be used.
