Oh the weather outside was frightful, but the event was so delightful....
It was cold and blowing and snowy, but folks from around the Twin Cities came to Camden's own annual Holiday on 44th event on December 5 to enjoy the great outdoors and the best that Camden has to offer at this chilly time of year.
The snow made it a magical evening, and there were more folks at this event than ever before. Everyone was smiling, singing and enjoying North Minneapolis along 44th Avenue. A MTN film maker said it was the best event she had ever filmed. The hay wagons were filled to capacity the entire evening and the volunteer committee had to make two extra runs for marshmallows to satisfy all those folks roasting over the open fires.
All along 44th were free events and food and fun stuff to savor - a great way to celebrate the holidays and to show the strength of Camden residents in Minnesota winters. Outside folks enjoyed fire jugglers, clowns, pony rides, and ice and wood carvers. Inside at the businesses and schools were treats and specials. Music and theater charmed folks inside and out. And crafters and artisans' works got folks busy buying gifts for the holidays. There's nothing like celebrating the Camden Community than with Holiday on 44th! Photos by Randy Klauk.
