On November 13 the Camden Youth Engagement Project (CYEP) youth-leaders led a Family Fun Night at Folwell Park and had over 60 youth, family and friends attend to play board games, basketball, do an obstacle course, and watch a family fun movie. And we’ve got more fun stuff coming up.
From December 1-18 CYEP will be running a CYEP Clothing and Food drive on the Northside. Coats, hats and gloves for youth or any article of clothing in good condition will be appreciated. The CYEP food drive will be for non-perishable items such as cans of vegetables and box dinners. Through the efforts of CYEP and the Northside community, much needed food and clothing will be donated to youth in our community. Donations can be dropped off at Fowell Park (1615 Dowling Ave N), the YMCA on Broadway (1711 West Broadway), and Steamworks Coffee & Tea (44th and Penn Ave N).
We’re also going to be at the Holiday on 44th festival on Friday, December 4 — we’ve got a spot in the Patrick Henry Gym. Then on Christmas Eve from 2-7 p.m. we’re going to help serve food to the homeless at Loaves and Fishes. In the meantime we’re also planning our Youth Summit (focusing on youth leadership) set for March.
