Closing Camden Bridge Moved
03/01/2010
In the last issue of the Camden News we told you that the Camden Bridge was scheduled to close in mid-March. The City has now informed us that the closing is being postponed to April. Weather permitting, the Camden Bridge is scheduled to close for rehabilitation work about April 12. The closure will last approximately six months, and when the bridge reopens, drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians will see major improvements. The bridge work is made possible because the City of Minneapolis applied for and received $10 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding for the project. The boat launch and trails on the west bank of the river in North Mississippi Park will remain open to the public. The path under the bridge on the east bank will be closed and detoured. Users can also expect detours around staging areas. Vehicle and bike detours will be marked. For info visit http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/cip/camden/.
