Supporting community
By: Kris Brogan 03/01/2012
We, the Camden Community, have experienced one of the most difficult times in recent memory. We have endured a great deal. We are also strong and resilient. We share a history and we share a future.
In the January issue of the Camden News there was an article describing the history, the importance, and the future of the Camden News. The article also spoke of the financial need to keep the Camden News on track to be the voice for and of the Camden Community in the future. The need is great. The paper is running at a shortfall of $600 per month. The Camden Community News needs financial support from the Camden Community.
Papa’s Restaurant and Deli believes in the Camden Community and in the Camden News. Papa’s has made a strong commitment to the Camden Community and continues to look for opportunities to build on the strengths of the organizations, the businesses, and the people who live and work here.
Papa’s Restaurant and Deli is teaming up with the Camden News for a special promotion. Stop into Papa’s and purchase a $20 gift certificate good for Papa’s food and deli items. Papa’s will donate $4 to the Camden News. In addition, Papa’s will hold a drawing from all the gift certificate supporters awarding a grand prize of Free Pizza for a Year and 12 monthly prizes of a free pizza.
There are 12,700 Camden News papers in circulation. There are 11,210 households in Camden. The goal for the fundraiser is 1800 gift certificates sold in the month of March. We know the Camden Community can reach this goal...and more.
