Think about it

I hope that voters will reject both the amendments on November 6 proposed for the Minnesota Constitution. While both have some merit, neither are stuff for our state constitution. They need more flexibility for improvements as we live and learn, and these two proposals, for voter photo ID and marriage, were too hastily rushed past the governor’s veto and onto this ballot.
For decades Minnesota law already, and in effect, defines marriage as between one man and one woman, and authorizes the counties to issue licenses to couples allowing them to have their marriage solemnized in Minnesota. Wouldn’t it only be fair if the state legislature would also license the “spouses” in a civil union, allowing this union to be between one man and one woman or between two women or between two men, and to establish their legal protections and responsibilities in a fair and equal standard as for marriage?
I hope each of you will vote on November 6 with your informed and educated consciences.
